Arise & Thresh

Bearing the Yoke
in Youth

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Galatians 6:9

We are glad you are here.

Our purpose is to serve Christ and His church with joy and steadfast devotion, knowing that the harvest is great and the labourers are few. Together, we seek to strengthen and encourage His people wherever He calls.

"Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee." Psalm 67:3

Arise & Thresh organizes short-term group mission trips to minister to Christ's church on the foreign field.

Learn More About Us

Why We Go

Christ has commanded His church to bear witness of His gospel among the nations. We long to see the name of Christ exalted in every place, and to strengthen His people where the Lord opens a door.

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15

We go not trusting in our strength, but in the promise that the Lord Himself goes before us. Our confidence is that His Word will not return void, but will accomplish His purpose (Isaiah 55:11).

Supporting the Local Church

Our mission work is not about replacing the ministry of the local church, but about supporting and encouraging it. Whether through teaching, fellowship, or practical helps, our aim is always to strengthen Christ's body in ways that build up, not burden, the local believers.

"Let all things be done unto edifying." 1 Corinthians 14:26

On our trips, worship remains central. We are convinced that public worship is the highest expression of Christian obedience, and from it flows every other act of service.

The work of missions is the work of many hands

Some Are Called to Go

As young people and students, we take seriously the call to devote our strength to Christ while it is yet fresh. "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

Some Are Called to Give

Your support helps advance the kingdom of Christ in places of need. Consider giving toward the work, that nothing may hinder the gospel's advance. "For we are labourers together with God" (1 Corinthians 3:9).

All Are Called to Pray

"Brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified" (2 Thessalonians 3:1). Join us in faithful, earnest prayer for the nations.

How Arise & Thresh Began

Arise & Thresh began in August 2024 when a Sri Lankan missionary visited the States to speak at a church camp. He expressed a desire for us and our friends to visit Sri Lanka and organize a youth camp for the young people in his church.

Two of our directors visited the Reformed Protestant Mission in Sri Lanka in November of 2024 to understand what such a trip would entail. In January 2025, we officially incorporated as a nonprofit in South Carolina, receiving our IRS tax-exempt status under IRC § 501(c)(3) in June 2025.

The inaugural mission trip was December 18–30, 2025. It consisted of twenty-four young people, including an ordained minister and one student of the ministry.

"Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe." Revelation 14:15

The Faith We Confess

We believe in the one true and living God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who has revealed Himself through the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and the only final authority for faith and life.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16

Redemption in Christ

We confess that mankind, fallen in Adam, is under the curse of sin and death. Yet redemption is found in Jesus Christ alone, the eternal Son of God, who took on flesh, lived a perfect and sinless life, offered Himself as the spotless Lamb of God upon the cross, and rose again the third day in power.

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." — 1 Corinthians 15:22

Salvation by Grace

We proclaim that sinners are justified before God not by works, but by grace through faith in Christ alone. Salvation is entirely the gift of God, applied by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit, who brings dead hearts to life.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." — Ephesians 2:8–9

The Historic Faith

We hold to the historic Christian faith, standing firmly within the Reformed tradition. We gladly subscribe to the Westminster Standards as a faithful summary of biblical doctrine, holding fast the form of sound words in faith and love.

"Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." — 2 Timothy 1:13

Our Hope

We labor in hope for the day when the nations shall be gathered to worship the Lamb who was slain. Our eyes are set on that eternal promise of glory. To this end we live, labor, and worship — to the everlasting glory of God.

"Thou art worthy… for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation." — Revelation 5:9

Who We Are

We are a group of young men and women who count it a privilege to serve Christ in the strength of our youth. Though we come from different fields of study and work, we are united by one calling: to serve reverently, joyfully, and in full dependence upon the Lord.
